How long for points to return after reservation cancellation

EasyJet flight was cancelled so I had to cancel a reward night booking in Switzerland prior to the free cancellation deadline.
How long for points to be refunded to my account? It’s been a week now

Should be immediate, you might have to contact them. How close to the deadline did you cancel?

Always had them straight away.

Remember it’s the hotels local time that is the deadline not UK time.

A few hours prior.

Yes, it was before hotel local time

How long before the stay did you have to cancel? I know it’s the day before or the actual date of stay with many hotels but I’ve noticed a few where it can be up to 3 weeks before the check in date (and threaten to charge the cash rate of the stay to your room if you cancel after that or don’t turn up!)

I’ve found that when I cancel close to the deadline points take longer to come back. Contacting IHG tends to sort it, if you’re in a hurry
