Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club How to check if 2nd rebooked BA return flight is cancelled

Hi all – urgently need advice! I had a one-way business flight booked from Frankfurt to LHR at 18:55 on Sat 23rd July which was cancelled in BA’s first round a couple of weeks ago. I rebooked online onto an earlier flight at 10:35, which was also cancelled two days ago, but was not able to rebook online. I posted on this forum to get advice about how to get through to BA to rebook, and was finally able to do it via Live Chat.

I was (deliberately?) misinformed by the BA agent (I have a copy of the chat transcript) that I couldn’t be rebooked onto any Lufthansa flights on the same day, as there was a 7am BA flight (which I couldn’t make). So I accepted to be rebooked the next day on a flight back to London City. I thought this was a safer option as it would avoid all of the chaos at Heathrow.

But after seeing the latest article about more cancelled flights, including ones at LCY, I’ve gone online to check if I can book a new ticket for my second re-booked flight and it doesn’t appear on the BA website (although it does still appear in the BA schedules). It is BA8735 on Sunday 24th July from Frankfurt to LCY.

Can someone who knows more about these things please let me know if my third flight is safe? I saw a comment from someone earlier which said that the schedules can’t always be trusted…

    Thanks in advance! 🙂

The reality is that in the current environment, no short haul flights are ‘safe’ as staff shortages continue and now with Covid cases running at over 300k/day that is causing further shortages beyond expected staff absence. Unfortunately, in addition to the mass cancellations now underway, there will still be many last minute ones.
