I now have access to the new HSBC loyalty portal, and I’ve looked to see if there are any rules with sharing the early access content. I can’t find any, so will share in further posts.

Main screen now has 5 main categories:

    Shopping vouchers
Get vouchers to spend at your favourite stores.

    Airline miles
Turn points into miles for a range of airlines.

    Hotels
Convert your reward points into hotel loyalty points.

    Tree planting
Turn your points into trees with One Tree Planted.

    Wine & champagne
Exchange your points for your favourite tipple.

All can be redeemed at the following rate: £5 voucher = 1,500 reward points

    Amazon
    Costa Coffee
    John Lewis
    M&S
    Pizza Express
    River Island

I’m sure most folk here will be interested in the airline section:

These can be redeemed at: 1 airline mile = 2 reward points

    Choose an airline:

    British Airways Executive Club
    Cathay Pacific AsiaMiles
    Emirates Skywards
    Etihad Guest

The value of your points will go to One Tree Planted, a non-profit environmental charity with a focus on global reforestation

Every 1,500 reward points = at least 5 trees planted in the UK.

Wine etc. seems a little more complicated:

    Wine and champagne
Take your pick from Laithwaites’ quality selection of wine, champagne, spirits and craft beers.

    How it works
Browse the Laithwaites rangeOpens in a new window on our website.
Call Laithwaites on 03330 148 174 and quote the first 6 digits of your card number to order.
You need at least 1,500 reward points.

@Rob – please delete if this isn’t allowed! I’m going to test this now and feed back on the HSBC community.

That’s a welcome improvement at least on new airline partner. Not so much for hotels.

Hope they also have a transfer bonus in August.

Yes the choice has improved for Airline transfers. The rate for hotel trasnfers is not great

Well that’s all a bit of a disappointment tbh. Not noticeably worse off as will still continue to convert to Avios but expected a bit more on the hotels front.

Wyndham rewards isn’t covered much on this site due to the patchy availability of their hotels outside the US. I’m interested to know what people value their points at. Is it closer to a Hilton (0.33p) or a Hyatt (1.1p)?

1 IHG One Rewards points = 2 reward points

This is rather disappointing. I was hoping that it would be 1:1 with IHG.

I am glad TAP is there. Their miles can be exceptional value on some African routes as they hold monopoly so cash prices are high.

Thanks for posting Scottpat78. This is an improvement – lots of new partners and no dilution of redemption rates as far as I can see. Another way to earn Emirates points is never a bad thing.

Agreed the IHG transfer rate doesn’t offer great value compared to other redemptions, but hotel points aren’t as easy to generate as they once were so at least it’s something!
