Does anyone have any experience on these Amex deals, if you can book a non-refundable pre-pay stay before the deadline but with the stay 4 months later?
    Thanks all!

I think it depends on the hotel. You might have to call them to ask them to charge you early if they don’t

Thanks Lumia, So if they do charge you onto the card at the time then you’re fine?

IME, yes. But with this most recent offer I’ve had an issue with Dreams Lanzarote accepting my booking then saying they can only take payment by MC, Visa or bank transfer! After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I asked them to cancel the booking as it was getting ridiculous.

Still waiting for my Grand Hyatt stay in Berlin to trigger these offers. Split the payment into 2 cards, but neither has the rebate yet, maybe I’m just impatient

Same here for Andaz Pattaya Jomtien. Used 2 out of 4 cards via providing card details to be charged by hotel front desk less than 3 weeks ago. Alternatively, I could also try pay using other 2 cards via payment links….

Made a payment today and waiting to see if it triggers too

How do you split payment across two cards?

Asked the front desk/reception staff to split the cost into two cards, no problem at all but I have had my stay unlike trying to prepay. The credits have now appeared on my statement

Not 4 months later, but as a datapoint I booked a pre-pay stay on Friday 29th November for a one nighter at Schloss Roxburghe in December. Transaction appeared on the 2nd, cleared on the 4th and I had the £100 credit showing this morning.

@LittleNick still waiting for mine. Did you pay using payment link provided by the hotel or give them your card details? Mine was the latter one while also did the split payment. Thank you

Apologies, I was physically present at the hotel as I was doing it on check out. Hope it comes through with yours as hotel staff have done it.
Does anyone know if the £100 off would work on an Andaz Liverpool Street pre-paid rate?

It worked for me at Andaz Liverpool Street (non refundable booking made with Emyr)

The hotel did only charge my card a week before check in though

Prepaid rate for Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport – no contact email address on site, but did live chat with central call centre who gave me the hotels email.
Wrote to them to say would like to charge to supplied-at-booking card to reach a target this week, and they happily obliged. About 5 days later the credit posted. Happy bunny, now just figuring out what to do for NYE in Amsterdam where public transport stops at 8pm

Success story: prepaid booking for Andaz Vienna for next year stay. Card charged day after booking. Email confirmation of offer triggered a few hours later.

My partner and I enjoyed SCHLOSS Roxburghe on Saturday and both the prepayment for the room and our incidentals paid in separate cards were instantly credited on each charge clearing.

I used mine at the Andaz Liverpool street for a stay next year. They didn’t charge the card so I called and asked them to do it for me.
All went through and got the credit a couple of days later.

Looking to use this offer too, could I book a refundable rate and ask them to charge it, or do we think it only works on non refundable bookings?

Too late for me now as I booked directly but I have since checked to see if Andaz Liv St was available via Virtuoso but it doesn’t seem to be an option? Did you receive additional benefits booking through Emyr?

I booked a non refundable rate but had to email them today for them to take payment before the Jan 6 deadline. Went through and got confirmation from Amex that I had used my benefit within the hour.

Also saw on my confirmation that wasn’t clear when booking via the Hyatt app was a note to still charge a 5% discretionary service charge on top of the room charge.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Andaz Liverpool Street just before Christmas booked through Emyr, and got the room upgrade $100 credit (£74) and breakfasts included (either a la carte or buffet). The 2x £100 credits were applied to our accounts within 3 days of payment (one night deposit to get the 10% room rate discount on offer as well).

Having now looked at Emyr’s website I can now see that he’s able to offer more than the Virtuoso hotels. I’m going to try to use Emyr more in the future but I like to price up multiple options and feel he might get a bit tired of that. I suppose I could ask him.
