Forums Hotel loyalty schemes World of Hyatt Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars – any advice/thoughts?

Trying to decide on a Hyatt option for a couple of weekend stays in towns soon. Interested to see/read if anyone has stayed at this hotel since it was taken over by Hyatt.

Specifically what the lounge option(s) are like.

I like the Regency & HH at Stratford, but will be spending a bit more time at the hotel than usual so thinking Blackfriars might be better suited to this.

    TIA.

There are quite a few comments on this particular hotel in the forums here on HfP over time including very recently and they are consistent. Googling should bring the earlier ones out as Hyatt as a separate headine is quite new here but the comments are there.

It was formerly a Crowne Plaza ISTR and before that, I seem to recall it much longer ago as an old telephone exchange building.

Stayed a couple of times- impressed. Rooms have had a complete refurbish and to a very high standard and decent size for a city centre hotel. Everything very new and just works. Even rooms overlooking New Bridge St are quiet.

I used a lounge access award on one of my stays – there is no lounge as such, they use back corner of one of the restaurants for canapés and drinks 5-7 and breakfast in main restaurant is complimentary – important if a dedicated lounge is important to you.

Appreciate you taking the time to respond, helpful summary. ‘proper’ lounge certainly a consideration/preference but not a deal breaker.
