Morning,
I was just making enquiries about flight prices on a particular airline. I was playing around with seat selection, added my partner airline number.
I couldn’t find the window I was working from, so I opened up another one.
I haven’t pressed confirm and I haven’t paid a single penny or pound to anyone, and now the app and website are both saying:
“Welcome (Name) Your next trip is ABC-XYZ” – it’s given me a booking reference, and giving me a countdown to check in and asking me to select seats.
What the —-??!
Has anyone ever had this before?
Please let me know if this will simply just fall off my profile as they see payment has not been made, or if I now have to call the airline to fix?
I really, really, genuinely was just looking and have zero intention of defrauding an airline!

State the airline and you’ll get a more useful response. Wizz air have been known to give booking references before payment (if you are logged in) to email you trying to get you to complete your booking.

Just wondering if anyone has a contact email address for them?
The booking is sat in a state of purgatory as no payment was made, it will release in 24 hours after the “initial booking” went through to the stage you were at. If you want to make the booking call KL.

I do it on the odd occasion, so don’t worry about it.
Quite a few airlines websites work in this sequence, Turkish Airlines awards and Singapore Airlines for sure that I know of. Nothing to worry about it’ll drop off in a day or so
