Check your Iberia plus account – my (admittedly Spanish based) account is currently showing a 50% reduction in the Avios portion of reward flights. Some insane deals.
You can Google translate this website for details – hope Rob doesn’t mind me sharing:
And 50% Avios Buy Bonus which can then be transferred to BAEC I guess… Might represent OK value
If using 241 voucher which can only be done via ba.com, there is no gain here.
The web page PB2 linked to states:
“Remember that, like the latest promotions, the discount does not apply to all users so check if they are selected.”
Sadly, neither me nor Mrs MacK are part of that select few!
But it has remined me of what a bargain Iberia is to Puerto Rico – business at 37k plus small fees one way. I feel some winter warmth.

Have you tried to make a booking to see.

I can’t remember exactly how I found it, but I found a link when I was logged in this morning. Shame the dates don’t work for my planned trip to Peru next year 🙁
I was able to book MAD – Tokyo Narita return in A350 business for just 59,500 Avios and 229.14€. Rude not to at that price! Availability wise, Tokyo often only had one reward seat in business though.

Wow! That’s a steal! And I didn’t know IB flew to Tokyo, one to make a note of as Japan is on my to-do list.
Iberia are re-launching the route at the end of October 👍
Not showing on my account. Do I need to set my country to Spain?
Just realised I’ve got an Iberia Plus account with nothing in it.
IIRC, I would need some Avios in there already before I can use the combine Avios feature to pull a load over from BAEC.I’m not going to be taking any Iberia cash flights anytime soon, nor hiring a car from Avis so can’t use those routes to activate the combine Avios feature.
There is an HFP article saying you can move hotel points in order to activate the combine Avios feature.
Anyone know if IHG or Hilton allows this?
I no longer have any MR sitting around, but Mrs Aston does. Don’t think she can transfer MR to my Iberia Plus account right?EDIT: I think I can transfer 10k IHG to Iberia and receive 2k Avios but needs to be done by contacting IHG One customer services.
Can anyone confirm this would satisfy the criteria for activating there combine Avios feature? My Iberia account is a couple of years old and hasn’t seen any activity since it was created. Thanks

I can’t comment on the IHG points, but I will say that I recently ‘activated’ my Iberia Plus account by crediting the Avios from use of a Red by Dufry Duty Free reward card on a recent trip to Spain when I bought some perfume in Malaga airport. Can also use the RbD card at Heathrow Duty Free but not Gatwick I don’t think
You can transfer Amex point if you have any. I activated my account doing that.
Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be on my Iberia account. I believe previously these targeted offers have been for Iberia Plus accounts with a Spanish address. I have now updated mine to a Spanish address so as not to miss out (family holiday home, not a random one)!
@tootsci Gatwick worked RbD for me
Oh good to know thanks!

Definitely don’t need a Spanish address, I’m UK based and it appears in mine. Perhaps a targeted offer though (I only joined Iberia Plus a month ago or so)
Where abouts did it show up? On actual search or on a banner?

I got to it in a very roundabout way. I’ll try again and post the route if I can get there again!

So I was most interested in the 50% bonus on buying Avios and that comes up if I go to the Iberia equivalent of the BA shopping portal “Iberia Plus Store” ibplusstore.Iberia.com
Afternoon – Silly question
Is the Avios partner transfer route still BA to Iberia via Avios.com
I ask because when I enter my Iberia account details via Avios.com, the website declares there is an issue, despite being able to login to my Iberia account
TIA
No, you can do it directly now with “Combine my avios”.
Thanks @Northernlass, but still the same message.
“Combine my Avios was unsuccessful
Combine my Avios is not available at the moment. Please try again later”Same on BA website too.
No clue what’s up with it.
