Read about this elsewhere and have checked myself – for example, you can currently book MAD JFK return Iberia A350 Business for 34,000 and 249€ total (50% Avios saving). I was looking at dates this side of Christmas. Rumours your account must be registered in Spain (mine is) this time round but worth a look – my account has never had access to these infamous 50% discounts before.
According to ultimallamada.com the terms are as follows: “You can issue discounted tickets until November 27 in any IBERIA cabin to fly until June 30, 2024.(Exclusion periods: 22/12 to 08/01 and 22/03 to 01/04)”
No sign of it on my UK IB+ account.
It’s a targeted offer according to T&Cs. If you haven’t received the email, you don’t qualify.
Yep I found the terms under the black friday section once logged in to IB+, but never received an email about this myself (others have reported the same) and it is working my end. I think the only requirement seems to be a Spanish address on the IB+ account, which I appreciate is likely to be a niche market here. I spoke with iberia and they said you can’t change FF number for reward flights (perhaps it still works via Finnair after booking, but you´d still need to call to try and get the longer booking code for that). I asked about adding the infant and she said it’s 10% of cash fare plus 25% of adult tax – but she cannot tell me what that is until booking made…depending on what business cash fare they use, a lap infant could cost more than an adult, valuing an avios at 1p. Iberia also have no 24h free refund cooling off period for reward flights, unless booked in USD, so she tells me – so if the infant price is crazy it would be 25 euro to refund per person.
