Flew LGW to NYC (airmiles) IFE was not working.
Got moved one row in front.
We had paid £150 and airmiles for the seating on avios (sitting twin at back). Was no longer on a twin or next to partner.
Worth trying to claim this back? Wouldn’t care if had not paid for the seats.
Anyone done this?
I traveled back from Miami last year, and had selected a pair of seats. The IFE in my friend’s seat next to me didn’t work, and she was offered a move (she declined), and was then given 50k avios after the event. I was surprised at the amount of compensation, to be honest, but she did well!
When we flew back from Orlando in August (Avios booking in economy which had been upgraded to premium economy) the IFE didn’t work for 3 of us (out of 4). I complained afterwards and we were given 5k Avios each.
Depending on the cabin you’ll get 5k or 10k Avios for broken IFE.
I have had a manual adjustment of 14k avios which relates to 2 x seat selection costs.
The fee on the seats was actually £66 for the flight.
I’ve had no email about my claim – will they refund the cash part too?
Virgin refunded 8k points for IFE not working. The ticket had cost 18k points!
Claim even if you hadn’t paid for the seat!

We paid £66 plus 14k avois for seat selection.
Had the 14k back but no email update as of yet nor any sign of the money.
