Forums Payment cards American Express IHG discounts / statement credit?

  • 7 posts

There was a recently expired statement credit offer for IHG (think it was £100 back on £350 spend).

I now need to book a night at the IHG O2 for next year.

Does anyone know if these offers come up regularly i.e. is it worth waiting for another?

Or is there another/better way to book and save/get upgrades etc? E.g. via Amex travel or something else I’m missing?

For reference I have a Gold card.

We’ll almost certainly see new IHG cashback deals but you can never be sure when.

You can get a better deal, if you want to book a flexible rate, by using our man Emyr Thomas – free breakfast, hotel credit, upgrade etc. It will go via the IHG Leisure & Lifestyle programme for luxury travel agents – https://www.headforpoints.com/2020/06/05/ihg-luxury-lifestyle-collection-benefits/

If you want to book prepaid there is a 10% cashback deal on many Lloyds / MBNA credit cards at present, max £30.

Thanks Rob, I will give Emyr a shout and see what he can do!

I have heard back from Emyr and unfortunately he cannot offer anything for that hotel. Thanks for the suggestion though!
