I see that BA has just announced that MCT for long-haul flights at Terminal Five will now be 75 minutes (up from 60). This will impact some people on here who will find they have to rebook some itineraries, I fear. Apparently this move will increase customer satisfaction!
This was announced last June and we covered it then – and the system change was made then, so only bookings made pre June for Jan and later travel had to be rebooked.
It’s only reared its head now after Simon Calder’s piece on Monday, which ironically was based on our story from June – he had diarised it to cover again now.
Apparently this move will increase customer satisfaction!
And it will because it is designed to reduce the number of passengers who misconnect because of a late inbound flight as it will give them (and their luggage) more chance to make their connections.
