Anyone ever used the international airline program? Seems a pointless feature and purely just there for marketing

Hi KD. Actually can be pretty useful. Sent my parents to Singapore 3 years ago via EK. EK was £2.2k/pax and IAP was £2k (and had extra £200 off as could use Amex travel offer). Just depends on the tickets themselves but I often find them quite competitive on J fares and are normally 50-100 cheaper than direct. Stacks well with 2x points too.

It varies, you need to check vs. booking direct, but it can work well.

Not sure if it’s the same on Platinum, with Centurion in J/F for some destinations they throw in limo arrival transfers and/or meet & greet.

Think they also check if pax make connections ok, when an aged relative missed his, they already knew and arranged to rebook him on the fly – he was in J and quite distressed at the situation, but the QR staff in Doha just told him it wasn’t their problem, Amex really helped fix things fast.

I’ve mostly used it when an itinerary couldn’t be booked online due to timing/mix of carriers.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll be sure to check when the times comes.

BA is now part of this. On our list of things to do is a bit of price comparison via ba.com and IAP. I’m not hopeful though, hence my lack of enthusiasm to do it – I am guessing it only works on flexible fare classes.
