Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Is BA app really this bad?

Following my other discussion yesterday I paid £17 for an aisle seat – there were only 4 left at that price and I didn’t want to risk being put in a middle seat. Almost at the back.

Then today I went to check in, it failed a couple of times but when I managed to, it said I could change to any seat for free. So I selected an aisle seat halfway down the plane. Nearest the front (at the time, and fingers crossed!) With no one else in that row.

When I go back to the app on the home page it still shows the old seat but when I look at my boarding card it shows the new seat.

    Sigh!

Hopefully it’s safe to bypass the check in desk tomorrow as I have hand luggage only and I’ll get the correct seat.

There is always a delay in the seat details on the app homepage getting updated, as it caches that information and doesn’t refresh it every time. It will catch eventually, but the boarding pass is what matters.

It does seem very ‘buggy’. I am hoping the millions set aside for the upcoming investment in IT infrastructure will vastly improve things!

Well if their website is anything to go by, then yes.

When booking my holiday – the website collapsed right at the confirmation stage, so I didn’t receive a confirmation email that anything had been booked, however it has all shown up in my account with reference number etc.

Now that I am trying to pay the balance, right at the verification stage, it states “problem adding additional product to basket – you have not been charged”.

    🙄

    “Errors

Sorry, we have been unable to complete your booking as there was a problem confirming an additional product.
We have not taken any payment and the item has been removed from your basket.

Additional products can be added later via Manage My Booking.

Please select ‘Continue’ to view your basket and progress with the rest of your booking.”

    Any ideas? 😀
