Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Is it worth using my credit card voucher on this booking?

    Looking to book in next 24hrs.

    Family of 4 (red) travelling (red) One/Way. See below for total costs;
    PE = 66k (red miles)
    UC = 124k (red miles)

    It’s late in the evening here and my brain is fried from VA erratic pricing policy.
    Does anybody know or can advise what would be the best way to the CC voucher, or is it work saving (Valid until Sept 26).

    Thanks in advance

    The voucher will now upgrade one of you from PE to UC, which doesn’t sound ideal. Alternatively, it will cover the points for 1 PE seat, which might be a better option.

    If you think you’ll be making a future booking where prices will be lower, then it might be worth saving it. You need to be very flexible for this option, though, so it depends a lot on your travel habits.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I ended up booking the voucher. Not the best value, but saved me 31000 miles.
    Potentially I wasn’t going to be in a position to use it by Sept 26.

    Interestingly, I booked 4xUC seats @124k and just rechecked the dates and it still has another 4 available @124k!

    How did it only save you 31k miles? It’s worth up to 75k. How did you use it?

    We’re only travelling one-way.
    Used as a companion voucher- The 1xUC=31k miles. The agent did try and see if Icould split it any other way, but came back with a no!

    Ah ok, I thought the points prices you cited were per person!

    From my recent experience you could have used it to upgrade some of you up to the value of the 75k points, but it must be that not every agent is interpreting it like this.
