    I got the same email but so far haven’t found any dramatic differences to BA Avios prices, other than a trip to DXB via Doha where they would book F on the connection but BA was in Y for the same miles.

    Has anyone ever managed to get a reasonable discount in one of Qatar’s faux sales?

    I am trying to rebook, hoped to pay 60% less avios, but so far no luck…
    What we really need is an ex eu J sale..

    @polly
    – you were posting about the elusive QR sale (which I told you then wasn’t coming) over a year ago when I was looking to book to Australia from whence I have now returned. There are still plenty of cheap QR fares, but only in weird combos of departure/arrival points. If I can get permission from my wife for another month away, I shall be booking again!

    @JDB
    One lives in hope.. actually was pricing up my booked DPS DUB ones for end Nov (following trip to SYD for a wedding) and it’s 100k more avios now, not to even mention a so called 60% less avios.. maybe this applies to summer low peak fares… so we will keep our fare for now.. it’s £306 plus 203k avios. Great value, compared to current cash prices.

    Hope you do get back to Oz.. we are only there for 11 days from SIN to BNE to SYD, only route we could get from SIN. But,looking forward to it big time..

    Got the same email. Couldn’t find any discount. Then later got the buy avois save up to 60% offer (if buying over 20k). The BA boost prices are lower so not tempted.

    @polly.

    Can you give us examples of Qatar weird combos for better prices.
    Thanks.

    Just to say the discount appears to be on buying Avios from QR, not on the redemption. Conclusion was using Avios booster was a better solution here… https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/qatar-avios-sale/

    There’s several examples for BKK and KUL in this thread:

    https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premium-fare-deals/2122969-few-qr-osl-bkk-arn-fares-1600-return-j-4.html

    OSL, BUD, FCO, SOF, ARN seem to be good starting/ending points. Requires a lot of trial and error to find the best fares.

    Thanks @Gavin454 you got a good link there. Often the better deals are maybe out of CPH back into AMS, at least the last one was. But BKK was the destination. Not much into KUL. Right now getting back on DPS DUB, as no J to London on or near our end of November dates.
    So it really does take some time playing around with starting points
    We have used most of the above mentioned start and finish points in and out of KUL, HKT, DPS for years now. Best thing about getting back to U.K. is buying the Y fare, ow, which you can change flights on the day…. So, good luck..these days 1600 is pretty good in a sale to Asia on QR, even if you don’t get QSuites.

    @BJ
    ,and @LadyLondon l found an old article from 2017 with us all discussing those fabulous £850 QR J sale fares. Funny reading back on those older pages….
