Has anyone stayed at a hotel thats near or within a reasonable distance from the airport (IST)? An overnight stay coming up between flights and would like to avoid going in to the city.
Did this a year past the summer. Stayed at the Hidden Hills Hotel in the conurbation immediately to the South of the airport. It was “OK” as a bed, food was bad, the bar didn’t serve alcohol, so wish we had booked into the Yotel. Was significantly more expensive but would have been zero hassle. Oh the hotel was neither hidden nor in the hills either, so I don’t get that.
i also see there’s now a Hampton in that same town (Faith I think it’s called) which is at least at the airport end of things. If you stay off airport you probably need to sort transfers out with the hotel as I assume taxi drivers will have a sense of humour failure if they’re expecting a fare into the City but you ask them to go a couple of kms… We were charged EUR35 for a minivan round trip, but split 5 ways that’s fair enough.
Stayed at Fly and stay airport hotel which is around 15 mins drive to IST
Hotel only cost £30 and taxi was fairly cheap (can’t recall how much as this was in 2021)…Stayed at the Hidden Hills Hotel… the hotel was neither hidden nor in the hills either, so I don’t get that.
Maybe the hotel was in hills that were what was hidden!
Now there is a Hampton there, too
No experience of the Hampton mentioned in this thread,but taxis/Uber from City not that expensive given the distance. Traffic flowed freely on the occasions I have travelled, unlike the shorter journey but horrific traffic experienced from the old airport.
