Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Japan Airlines BAEC avios ticket

Bit of an odd one and I wondered whether anyone had experienced this or had expert knowledge?
We have an internal Japan Airlines flight next month on a BA ticket paid with Avios. It was avios plus zero cash booked last year. Ominously I never got a booking email and MMB doesn’t recognise the booking reference… However at the time a check on MMB on Finnair and today on Royal Air Maroc shows the booking and a 125 ticket number.
I’ve assumed is all ok, but as the date gets closer one worries a tad.

Go on the Japan airlines website and put in your info and it should show there. You can pick seats there too

If you still have trouble after following @Biki then do this and it should work fine:

    Go to jal.co.jp

Double check that the globe on top right is showing London English. If it isn’t then you need to change it because your BA booking does not log in from just any JAL MMB page (unless they’ve fixed it recently).

    Go to ‘Manage’

Enter your details under ‘Non JMB member’

Brilliant, thanks all ok, I think I’d put in the BA ticket number rather than the reservation number before

Good, mind sharing what you booked? I’m curious if you managed to get 2x J seats exLHR?

Internal flight with no fees definitely doesnt sound like business out of London to me…

Saturday night, even so it’s a good job I gave up working years ago 🙂

Good stuff, enjoy. I was reminded of that option yesterday and will be reapplying for BAPP to try abd take advantage of it too.

Aren’t you pretty much forced to stay overnight in Madrid on the way back?

You are on both ways. Outbound at 11:55am is too early to risk the same day and inbound arrives 10:25pm.

It’s hard to beat 119k Avios plus cca £380+ in J (off peak) for two people. Even if you spend £200 extra on accommodation, it’s nothing.

However, Japan is so popular even from Spain and seats are harder to find.

@Aston100, @meta we have the time and flexibility and I see the opportunity to bookended this with short breaks or a week in Spain as a big plus. That it won’t be for many maybe makes it that little bit easier to get seats on the route.

Booked a double open jaw, coming back from HKG – LHR with BA on the club suites 777, booked return online and phoned in for the 50% avios back so paid the low tax ex HKG for a one way £35 each if I recall correctly. Only bummer is BA cancelling the other HKG flight, we could have swapped to QR!

We booked outward online with BA using 241 at 355 days, a bit lucky I reckon as I didn’t know at the time that you could call BA and book IB at 360 days, this being when they are also available for IB avios bookings.
