How early do people tend to arrive at LCY for a flight these days?
Am flying out at 5pm on Thursday, will have hand luggage only. Am not one to ever arrive particularly early but haven’t been through City airport for a while. Is 45 mins – 1 hour still ample time?What time does the gate close?
How far is the gate from security?Thursday 5pm is likely to be busy, but 45mins-1hr should be ample time to get through security (you don’t need to take liquids/laptops out anymore).
In addition LCY is in the midst of refurbishment so the hanging out space is pretty uninspiring right now and I would try to minimise that.An hour will be more than fine. 45 mins would be my personal limit though
Remember there aren’t a lot of places to sit when it’s busy (and no lounge) so no need to get there super early
It’s not a large airport and securoty is very efficient – even more so now they have the new new scanners.
Thanks all. Not sure what gate I am but think will aim for ~1hr beforehand then which gives a bit of a margin if I get held up en route
