Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Leaving baggage at the airport

  • 307 posts

I’m flying to Heathrow tomorrow, stopping over at a local hotel, then flying to US on Wednesday.
I assume I can check my bags all the way through, and then on Thursday just go straight to security. I’m just a tad sceptical about leaving my bag overnight at the airport where it could just disappear forever 🙂

Done this plenty of times, never lost anything at LHR (yet!) Far less stressful than having to do bag drop as well as security at T5, and it’s only like doing a long daytime layover. Make sure you have a couple of days’ worth of stuff in your hand luggage just in case!

If this is one ticket and the connection is less than 24 hours then yes your bags can be checked through overnight.

If you are worried then either take the bag with you overnight to your hotel or leave it with the commercial bag storage people. It’s about £15 per bag for upto 24 hours.

cheers, you’ve convinced me to leave it overnight. Saves messing about.
just needed the reassurance from the good bunch of people on here that have done this before.
