Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club LHR boarding pass with RJ gold

  • sturgeon 265 posts

I status matched so my RJ account is gold and applied my FF number to a Heathrow BA booking which I’ve just checked in for. All worked fine as it allowed seat selection immediately when the match happened last month.

When I did this for a Gatwick flight, my Apple wallet boarding pass had a ‘fast track’ message on it. My Heathrow pass doesn’t. Will I be able to use Business check in and fast track security? I assume if they scan the boarding pass it will show I’m eligible for both, although nothing on the pass says this. And what about the lounge, will my pass once scanned let me in or will they create a fuss? What’s the back up, am I meant to get my RJ app out? It never let me add my gold card to my Apple wallet.

@Sturgeon – RJ Gold Sparrow / OW Sapphire doesn’t give security Fast Track – you need OW Emerald RJ/Platinum Hawk for that. Gold Sparrow does give you business class check-in.

Check the OW equivalent of your RJ status

Emerald = priority security and lounge

Sapphire = lounge but not security

But if you were flying BA club you do get fast track security no matter your status

Thank you. Makes sense. Why did my Gatwick boarding pass show fast track security then? That’s weird.

And just checking, my boarding pass shouldn’t show anything to suggest my status but if they scan it at the lounge, they’ll see?

@sturgeon – have you flown the LGW flight yet and if so did you use the fast-track security ok? I have the opposite to you!

For my LHR-BCN flight with BA last month (in Y) my boarding pass with my RJ Gold Sparrow FFN attached said ‘fast-track’ on it but I didn’t bother using it as there was no queue at regular security so I don’t know if it would have ‘worked’ or not. I have a flight with BA (also Y) LGW-AGP in November so I wonder what that will show when I check in? There was a thread I posted in the other day about this, and we thought we had it all cleared up, but now your data point has me unsure again!

It doesn’t make sense because it’s how BA treat elites not what the OW site says – Oneworld Sapphires are eligible for fast track security at LHR and LGW the attendant should let you in when seeing you are OW Sapphire
