Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Lounge access sharing

  • 10 posts

Is there a thread on this forum to notify of availablity of lounge access for a guest?
I’ve been in the lounges a few times already this year, and a few more to go and thought it would be nice to guest someone in.
It would certainly be something that I would appreciate if I didn’t have access myself.

    How would it work?

There isn’t a private message facility and many people would be reluctant to provide chapter and verse of their dates and flights and post their email addresses on public posts and I’m not sure it’s something Ron and Rhys would necessarily want to do and play Postman Pat and sharing email addresses.

I mean for nothing complicated, just to msg when you’re at LHR to see if anyone wants to be your guest.

I think there is/was something similar to this on Flyertalk.

I’ve also seen this but not used it.

There used to be a thread on Flyertalk, but it was closed down a few years ago, I think because BA asked for it to be stopped. I doubt they would be any keener on it starting up here.

Is it rude to hang around the first wing at T5 and ask any people travelling on their own (as they could guest) if they don’t mind guesting you through?

There was indeed but I recall the BA board mods closed it down itself after compliants of people asking for payment when liaising via private message re times to meet up, people being overbearing in their requests and general unpleasentness.

There may also have been a couple of instances of ‘guests’ behaving badly once in the lounge which could have aroused BAs interest but bad behaviour isn’t restricted to guests unrelated to their hosts!

    Lol, I dare you!

Personally I wouldn’t want the lounges any busier than they are at the moment.

Earn it or Yearn it buddy.

I don’t think you can hand around outside the First Wing at T5. Last week I saw a BA staff (?guard) standing next to the door randomly checking your boarding passes. If you do not have the right status for ‘First’ he would show you the way to the Gallery lounge upstairs!

Agreed, we don’t want to encourage people who aren’t entitled to be there to gain access.

May not be rude, but definitely embarrassing.

Haha, very tempted to take your dare but might just have to slum it in Galleries Club instead to avoid any embarrassment! If there was a way to pre-arrange it before hand that’s a different matter

T5B lounge isn’t a bad place to hang around, and generally quieter than the Flounge.

We often try to invite elderly people. People always think it suspicious though!!
