-
Rob et al, we have upcoming annual family reunion next month and was hoping to make the most out of card benefits at the start of the trip. There are 6 Adults and 1 Child (10 year old). I was planning to use:
Player A Platinum Amex (priority card) for 2 Adults (main card holder + 1 guest)
Player B Platinum Amex (priority card) for 2 Adults (main card holder + 1 guest)And the same Player A but Gold Amex (priority card which currently has 3 x lounge access left) for 2 adults and 1 child
With Player A and PLayer B Platinum Amex, I am quite confident it is okay as it is basically Main Card Holder + 1 Guest.
But not sure if I can use my Gold Amex (which obviously has different Priority Card No.) for another 2 Adults and 1 Child. Or specifically, will Amex be charging me if I do that?
@Vit – one can’t be certain how any given lounge receptionist would address this, under the rules your plan doesn’t work on two grounds. 1) you can only be yourself once, even if you have two cards or vouchers that allow access. 2) the four gold card passes are for the primary cardholder plus one guest only.
Some will suggest tricks like you covertly exiting (while the other first entrants remain) the lounge and reappearing with the other card, you may not be comfortable with that and it may well not work to circumvent the rules anyway given how many you are trying to get in.
It will depend on who is scanning the Priority Pass cards at the lounge
Platinum 1 – no problem
Platinum 2 – no problemGold – you would usually have to be use the Priority Pass yourself before you can guest entry (but you would have already used your other one). They may scan it as you entering and do +2 guests (and allow the other 3 to enter)
If this doesn’t work, you could ask them to scan your Priority Pass from AMEX Platinum a second/third time, as it’s not restricted by now many times you can use per day (often useful with lounges who impose strict time limits if you need an extra hour or so)
Thanks for the input. As there is no need for all of us to be together in a single lounge and the fact that there are multiple (Priority Pass) lounges at that particular airport. Would this work?
Lounge #1:
Player A Platinum Amex (priority card) for 2 Adults (main card holder + 1 guest)
Player B Platinum Amex (priority card) for 2 Adults (main card holder + 1 guest)“Both Player A & B Exit Lounge #1 and Proceed to Lounge #2 with the rest”
Lounge #2:
Player A Platinum Amex (priority card) for 2 Adults (main card holder + 1 guest)
Player B Platinum Amex (priority card) for 2 Adults (main card holder + 1 guest)And we may just pay for the 10 years-old child to get access. Hope this makes sense?
