Anyone else is doing status match from SAS EB scheme? Managed to get mine matched. Now planning the flight to hopefully extend this into Feb 2026. Seems straight forwards for me as Senator requires 6 flight segments by end Nov 2024. (https://lufthansa.statusmatch.com/faq/)

Meaning I can do: EDI-FRA-OSL as 2 flight segments. Is this correct? I search the definition of flight segments and a single journey can consist of multiple flight segments…. in case I am missing anything?

I tried to do this, following a SAS status match from BAEC and the M&M scheme rejected the match request stating that my SAS status didn’t come from travel (which it didn’t).

If you got your SAS status by flying with them then it’s a good way of getting what can be a hard status to earn.

Mine matched through – im thinking of doing a similar run – hoping to find something good from BHX tho. Seems a status worth going for Feb 2026 is a decent period of time

I have requested the match to SAS and sent in the documents asked for a couple of days ago. Have not heard back. Some people were getting quick responses so dont know if the match was approved or not. If this was successful it would have great to match to Lufthansa also but good to know they are not doing it so i dont waste time. thanks

This has now been clamped down… good luck to those still waiting for an answer. I got rejected straightaway.

Would like to add a data point to this as it does looks like some status matches are being approved still.

I created a SAS EB account late June (with no activity)
Requested a status match 7th July from BA gold to EB gold – Success after sending additional documents
Requested a M&M status match today from EB Gold to M&M Senator – Success almost immediately (although still doesn’t show on M&M app)

So some matches are still being accepted. I can only assume it’s one of the following
    1. I created my SAS EB account just before the clampdown so my EB number doesn’t flag as newly created (even though it was created late june)
    2. I’m was already Frequent traveller in M&M gained very recently (early July) due to a multileg flight down to south africa in F & J

So it’s still possible but maybe not if you create a brand new EB account today or have no activity in your M&M account.

I just had mine approved.. older EB account and I managed to credit a SAS flight to it this weekend. Waited until then to do the match and just been told it is approved.

Question: for the flights needed to requalify – does anybody know if existing flights count? Just a few weeks ago I flew with LOT and credited to Miles and More and I wondered if that will count towards my total or if the total starts from the moment the match is approved? I looked at the T&Cs and couldn’t figure it out..

I got a status match this week to Eurobonus gold without providing any documents to prove I was BA Gold (I didn’t have time to reply to the requests for information so it appears they upgraded me anyway).

Today I applied for a status match from SAS Gold to Lufthansa Senator and it was approved in 14 minutes.

I was an existing SAS member (no status, maybe 10 flights in the last 10 years with SAS – last flight in 2022) with 1,000 points on my balance.

Looking to do a mileage run to clock up the flights needed to retain my new Miles and More status… any good ideas? I’m thinking of some interesting routes via Zurich for better lounges than the Lufty ones in MUC/FRA..

@t0m check what routes you can connect in ZRH onto an Edelweiss A330. First checking Edelweiss will count for your M&M status challenge. Edelweiss send wide bodies to some far European destinations

As a data point for anyone still thinking of trying the Lufty status match, I just got accepted:

    – my SAS EB account is 5 years old with no activity at all prior to this month
    – requested a match to EB Gold from BA Gold & approved
    – made a few SAS flights this month as part of the status extension challenge
    – once these flights showed in my SAS account I requested a M&M status match to Senator. Took a couple hours but got approved
    – I had no status with M&M and I have had no activity on the account in the last year

Saw this and my eyes lit up, but unfortunately Edelweiss not eligible 🙁

For reference they are: Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City, Luxair and SWISS.

I think you’d be fine on Edelweiss if it was a ticket number issued by Swiss. But don’t risk it if you’re going to be tight on achieving the qualifying flights.

Thanks @BWS – am I right in thinking if it’s got a 724 ticket number might be ok?

@Deek if you do a search online for Edelweiss and M&M you’ll find some FAQs.

Despite the post at 09.37 that attributes someone else’s success to me, I am still yet to attempt a match from SAS to LH.i’m not sure why the comment is showing as one of mine.
