Quick question for anyone with experience of the above, as a lot of the information online seems to relate to transfers within T4 and T4S rather than between terminals.
I have a 2-4-1 booking on Iberia arriving from Mexico City at 13:50. Being based in Glasgow, with relatives in Edinburgh, the simplest, most direct way home would appear to be the 17:00 easyJet flight to EDI.
Is 3 and a bit hours likely to be enough to pick up checked luggage, clear immigration and get between terminals to make the onward flight?
@CJD – on arrival from MEX, you will clear immigration at T4S (and how long that takes is anyone’s guess – can be 5 mins or 45 mins plus). You then take the train to T4 to collect your bags and from there take the very regular shuttle bus to T1 which takes around ten minutes. Obviously in T1 you will have check-in/security/immigration.
So, if all goes smoothly 3h10 is potentially a bit tight but should be fine and it’s comfortably over the official MCT.
Thanks, good to know.
Do you have any experience of connecting domestic to international in Mexico City?
Thanks, good to know.

Yes, it’s not too difficult (albeit a lot of walking) even if your flights are to/from a different terminal as they are linked by the Aerotrén. Aeroméxico will usually check your bags to your international destination, even if flying with another airline/alliance. You do still need to go to your international check-in desks at MEX with the luggage receipts that the airline then ‘claims’ and ensures get onto your international flight.

A lot of work going on on the Aerotren, so there is often a replacement bus service (which crosses the airfield).
AM policy at PVR last October was to not through check bags (checked with supervisor), so YMMV on that one.
