Malaga / Marbella / Torremolinos

Hi all,

My wife is 40 next year and we, and 6 other couples, have flights booked to Malaga for a weekend in June… I’m looking for a hotel for us all, and it’s tough deciding!

Looking for something 4-5*, with a nice beach and maybe beach club… and also close to bars and restaurants… I wanted to book the Amare but that now has a 4 night min stay and we are only there for three…

I have Melia Gold – so maybe Melia Costa Del Sol?

Anyone got any other recommendations as would be good to use Black Friday discounts!

The Gran Hotel el Miramar in Malaga is rather nice. Right in front of the beach and an easy walk along the promenade to the harbour and from there into the centre.

It’s a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Seems to be available in early June for £266 including breakfast, less if you don’t want that.

There’s a city beach in Malaga but it doesn’t have the beach club vibe you’d get in Marbella.

Obviously there are some fabulous hotels around Marbs and Puerto Banus but you’ll be paying top dollar (or euro) for beach front properties so it depends a bit on your budget and whether you want peace and relaxation or in-your-face bling and high performance cars growling past!

Also check your June weekend isn’t at the end of half term week as prices spike then as well.

With that many of you you could probably get a villa or even 2 which might be good value and feel more luxurious/private.

The fiestas in Marbella are in early June, so
that could ramp up the price (but also the fun!).

We stayed at the Sol Don Pedro recently. Don Pablo on same complex as well as Don Marco. It was our second visit. We stayed b&b and went to restaurants in the evening.

The Melia is about 10 mins walk away and although we haven’t stayed there looks nice.

Torremolinos hotels I mentioned are about 8-10 euro in Bolt taxi from the airport and takes about 10 minutes

The Triton Hotel in Benalmadena is somewhere I would add to a short list for your trip. Super position, great facilities with everything you need on your doorstep. 15/20 mins from the airport.
