Based on the top image on this page:
https://www.hotel-development.marriott.com/brands/fourpointsexpressI went a few months back and it desperately needed renovation
Odd that it has the main Marriott logo on the app now?

Nice looking building and handy for the station, there’s a huge amount going on around the area but it’s still a bit of a work in progress (as most of Mnachester seems to be at the moment). It’s been neglected for far too long, it can only be improved.
It was originally built in the late 70’s with British Gas as the anchor tenant and was famous for the huge exterior ‘To let’ sign having an ‘i’ inserted almost imperceptibly…App now updated with photos of refreshed rooms, so presumably the returb is progressing well.
Incidentally, looks like The Reach up the road has been pushed back again, now not bookable until mid-May.
Sounds like it will be a ‘regular’ Marriott based on https://www.businesstraveller.com/business-travel/2024/03/07/manchester-marriott-hotel-piccadilly-set-to-be-unveiled-this-spring/
It’s live on Marriott.com too here https://www.marriott.com/en-gb/hotels/manmp-manchester-piccadilly-hotel/overview/
It is confirmed to be a Marriott and will also have a lounge. The aim is apparently spring to complete the conversion, overall it seems to be going well and the new rooms are a huge improvement over the previous ones. I would guess May or June at its current rate! Will be interesting what rates they try and charge one the works are completed!
Currently only complaint in the new rooms is the pillows are terrible, probably because so new, but then because they are stuffed into pillow cases half the size they are almost unusable, but I am sure this is just a teething issue and will be worked out!
Staff while not fully up to speed I must say seem very friendly and helpful, a nice a welcoming place!
