Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Missing Avios for Airbnb booking

I booked a stay in mid November via the AirBnb link on the BAEC website and entered my BAEC membership number as requested. I completed the stay exactly as booked and waited for 60 days to elapse after the stay was completed. T&Cs say that Avios is awarded within 60 days of the completed stay. Not having received any I forwarded my booking confirmation from AirBnb with all necessary info to the ba.com e-mail address specified in the T&Cs. It’s now 4 weeks since I’ve done this and I’ve not received a reply.

Any recommendations about what I can do? I’m Silver with BAEC and I’ve never had cause to speak to them on the phone, is there any point in doing so in this case?

Do you have anything showing as pending in your BA Executive Club app ? You can also submit a claim via the app and maybe that should be your next step as the email route hasn’t worked.

Nothing showing as pending in the app. I usually submit missing claims on estore via my desktop browser but I didn’t think to do so as I didn’t go to AirBnb through estore in the first place. I’ll try that route and see if I get any joy. I’m slightly miffed to get zero response from the ba.com e-mail address they publicise!

The ‘missing Avios assistant’ redirects one to the airline partner missing Avios page. You’re expected to complete the online form, print it, then post it with the original receipt to the service centre. In other words, it won’t allow you to generate a pending request as it does for online purchases.

I think I’ll send a chaser to the e-mail address first as I strongly suspect if I completed the form and printed off the AirBnb booking confirmation, they’d respond by telling me to write to the e-mail address I’ve already written to!

I’m in the same situation. The Airbnb points never transfer from any booking and no one at the missing Airbnb Avios email address responds. It’s really frustrating!

Worthy of note in this regard is that points post under the DATE OF BOOKING with a note of the date posted. So unless you keep a close eye on your balance, you won’t particularly notice the points appear as they don’t necessarily show in recent transactions. I booked an Airbnb in Apr 23 for a stay in Dec 23, the points posted in Feb 24 but dated Arp 23. It took me ages to work out why my balance has increased and eventually found the points posted in April 23.

Correct. In fact, when booking airbnb via the BA shop, they invite you to click on a link (which I did but shouldn’t have) in their preamble.

The correct procedure is to click on a button above, which I didn’t see because I did what they instructed me to do in plain English.

When I pointed this out they muttered something about waiting 60 days, ignored the anomaly and nothing happened.

Having same issues – £4000 spend on Airbnb in 2 years all done using correct linked procedure adding Executive Number etc – never get any points never get any communication at all even told them I am seeking to take legal action over missing awards the visits are not even recorded on Avios or British Airways Sites – emailed various Avios and Exec Club emails and staff – totally ignored. Bene trying to resolve for nearly a year. Theres a special email set up missing airbnb miles 0 never had a single response not even a generic ‘we have received email’ response just totally ignored? can anyone give any advice as tearing my hair out with this issue.

Yes. I have found the only working solution (and I tried a LOT).

Send a short and factual email (remove any emotion and overexplaining), including your Exec club number and proof of purchase & tracking proof, and say how many Avios you’re due, and email this to the CEO of Avios: adam.danielsATavios.com

Same problem here. To my surprise, after third escalation made in August, I got the following email yesterday:
    “Dear philuk,

Thank you for getting in touch with us to claim for your missing Avios with AirBnB for both of your bookings made on 13 February 2024.

I have checked your account and can see that your Avios has been credited by AirBnB using the above booking date for both awards, which you can see if you log in to your account at ba.com.

I hope this Information has been helpful and thank you for choosing British Airways.”
Well, my booking was made on 13 Feb 2023, not 2024 + nothing posted between Feb 2023 and now.
It came from missingaviosairbnb at ba.com
