Random question but after 4 months of BA failing to fix I’m wondering if there are any options.
Flew a bunch of BA/Qatar/Malaysian business class flights back in May and none have credited TP’s (I got the avios).
Countless calls to BA with varying comments. All tickets were in classes eligible for TP’s.
BA have even tried to say they have no record of me boarding their own plane even though I did and have the boarding pass and stamps in my passport to prove it.
What are options? I’ve relocated to Asia so thankfully never need to fly BA again, but the TP’s will be the difference between re qualifying for silver and thus retaining access to one world lounges here in KL and elsewhere.
Can I force them to issue the missing TP’s legally? If there was an avenue to do this I may just attempt it to spite BA.
I put a formal complaint it. It is still open and they are still investigating.
I would be careful you aren’t doing something simply to ‘spite’ BA. At a minimum I would put a complaint in.
CEDR do not deal with this.
Others are better placed to comment. You could ascribe a financial value to the points, and send a letter before action to BA. This gesture may well spur them in to doing something. I would also write to Shaun Doyle via email, as this team has some clout.
Interesting, what reason they’re giving you that Avios posted but not TPs?

I don’t know about forcing legally – that will need a more experienced responder than I, but I made a note of the following email addresses from someone on this forum regarding the non crediting of tier point issues (just in case I ran into a similar TP not crediting issue):
– gecsreplies@contact.britishairways.com
– duty.office@holidays.ba.com
– loyalty.feedback@ba.com
– exec-club.socialmedia@ba.com
According to the original poster, apparently these email addresses are responsive.
🍀 Good luck!
I had a similar issue with Qatar-marketed flights on Malaysia metal (the flights actually operated by Qatar credited to BAEC without issue), which were rejected via the missing Avios functionality on the BA website. I had to resort to lodging a complaint earlier this month and got the Avios and TPs last week. Unfortunately, I now need to lodge complaints on behalf of my wife and son so that they get theirs.
Thanks for comments all.
@Jacob various reasons; no record of me boarding, operated by partner so BA need to contact Qatar/Malaysian which can take 10 weeks, my middle name was on the ticket but my BA account only has first and last name. For the latter excuse I was assured way back at the start of the ordeal that if I sent a copy of my passport to executive club to get my middle name added to my BA account, they would post. Did that and they didn’t post. Then it was no record of me boarding….
Flew Cebu pacific recently and honestly got better service both during check in and in flight than I have done from BA in the last couple of years flying in J. BA are a joke right now. It’s so obvious their strategy is just to do the bare minimum and wear you down wherever there’s a problem in the hope you just give up. How they think this is sustainable business practice I have no idea.
