Long story short, Amex made balls up on my surname and put my middle name as my surname.
I am closing the account and wish to move my points out.
But virgin, Hilton and avios declines the move because the names do not match exactly.
Are there any other payouts where I don’t need the exact name match?
(As filling in the change of name form is a lengthy process)
Historically, Nectar and Radisson didn’t do any sort of matching. Not sure if this is still the case (and Radisson is minimal value now post devaluation).
Obviously (well, perhaps not obviously) you could open a new Avios account using the name on the Amex account, move the points there and form a Household Account with yourself.
Similarly, Hilton, open a new account, do the transfer and then send the points to yourself for free via Points Pooling.
