Forums Payment cards American Express Amex Nando’s cashback offer

  • 356 posts

Have saved an 8% offer to card. I cant see from the T’s and C’s whether purchases made (at a participating location) VIA THEIR APP, are included or excluded from the offer. The convenience of ordering via the app as we step off the tube may be worth more than the 8%, however would be interested to know if anyone knows if this will track via Nando’s app?

Suspect very much it will given that’s the method Nando’s push you in to using (unless you need to pay with cash or, annoyingly, gift cards when they send you to the till like a caveman…)

I’d like to think it would credit, but a transaction in Leon at Euston failed to track recently.
It’s ages since I’ve been to a Nando’s, but in a rush tomorrow at the O2. I assume the alternative is ordering on screens like McDonalds.

Euston and some of the other Leon’s transport hubs appear to be a franchise or something, as they come up with a different company name whenever i’ve used them.

They do- but it was listed on the American Express site in the T’s and C’s. Not sure how much effort to make on such a trivial amount.

Detained by life struggles & attended Nando’s on 13 Jan 23 to avail of the 8% offer on BAPP.

Ordered via Nando’s APP to eat in, and no credit posted so far. Thought it could be a case of waiting 90 days. However, under Transaction Details on Amex app it said “Stripe LSM” who presumably processes the in app orders. So one probably needs to order at the till to have the 8%.

I tend to get a push notification from the app whenever I redeemed an offer, this even worked for the Play dining credit offer. So if you didn’t get it, then the chances are it wasn’t eligible.

Was the “stripe LSM” before or after the transaction went from Pending to “statemented”

I did not take note whilst the transaction was in pending.

From 13 Jan, Amex app showing as “Nandos.co.Uk” but revealed “strip LSM” when tapped for further transaction details. Corresponding entry in IPhone’s Wallet just says “Stripe LSM” with no mention of Nando’s.

Visited again today for this thread’s benefit & ordered on the till. Amex app showing “Nando’s” with no mention of Strip on tapping. Iphone wallet also showing as “Nando’s”.

Thanks Gary for the info. I hope you enjoyed the food and I hope you get the credit this time!
I’ll post back with my data point too. But it sounds like the app, crazily, doesn’t work.

I just noticed the 8% back from an app transaction (I only made an app transaction since saving the offer) just hit my card on 9 Feb – so seems like app transactions qualify after all 🙂

Ditto, thanks for prompting me to check.

I’d have been ok with it not posting, as using the app gave us a great experience on this occasion. The offer wasn’t clear but said “in-store”

There was a huge queue with diners being told 20-25 minutes before being able to place an order. We’d hit “order now” while on the Junilee line, walked straight past the queue to collection.

We wanted to sit down, but had ordered a takeaway. But as I’d ordered a beer, was told I’d have to drink it on premise as they didn’t have an off-premises licence, so we just snick downstairs and sat in an unreserved booth, knowing if challenged we had a good reason!
