No, the name has to match at either side.
If you are looking to use the miles together, worth asking VS customer service at the time of booking as they have done this.

There is also the ability to move miles between Virgin accounts for a fee of £10.

Certainly looking to use them together. VA is very much my secondary points airline, but we are slowly getting close to a couple of UC redemptions and MRs would make that actually happen.
