Looking for some advice as tearing hair out trying to get a last big trip for me and my wife before she can no longer travel long distance due to disability.
Been checking availability for last two months and changing route to suit. All sectors reserved last Saturday but pricing said non-compliant (but not why). Eventually I found out they do not consider stopovers of more than 24 hours to be viable for what is a point to point offer! This is not what their offer says online, Ts&Cs do not mention duration of stopovers and booking Avios flights allows stopovers of a week which is what we are trying to do.
I emailed a complaint but they cannot help and the link they provided only gets me back to the same form. Telephone support cannot help as they do not understand multi-partner awards and there is no way I can get to someone I. Pricing to understand the conditions!
Can anyone provide any advice or a contact email that can help me?
What was the routing that you tried to book?
There are some unpublished rules apparently. Max 8 segments, and no backtracking. Only 1 land segment allowed.
Flyer Talk might be the best place for advice.
Thanks Alex. I stuck to all rules I found including those you mentioned. Where I have come unstuck is that the back office insist it is a point to point option with stopovers of 24 hours max. Not for RTS or extended holidays (I was heading to Sydney via CMB and DPS).
Seems a really odd decision. Rob has posted stories of people effectively doing a RTW itinerary with multiple long stopovers.
I’m doing SIN-NRT:HND-HEL-LHR next month, with 18 nights in Tokyo.

I’d start again. Make another call putting forward the same flights and you’ll probably get a different answer. Like so many things BA, half of them don’t know what they are doing.
Sounds like the call handler was happy with the itinerary, but the team that prices it up were not, so HUACA may not work. Unless they are lucky enough to get a different back office team member look at it. I booked mine on a Sunday and got a price in about 2 hours, so it is a 7 day week operation.
