New double points promotion

I’ve just received an email from Hilton about the new promotion running between 2nd May and 2nd September.

This will allow you to earn double points for every Hilton stay during those dates. You MUST register for the promotion first, any existing bookings between those dates will not qualify (just cancel and rebook if you can).

An interesting question I have, if you book a 2X points stay, then will that mean overall I’ll get 4X points?

I’m not 100% sure if this promotion is targeted or available to all. But login to your Hilton honors account and check the offers. Like I say, I have an email telling me about this.

It’s a global promo, all hotels, all members and yes you can double up to get 4x base points that way.

After years of being a Diamond member, I’m on a quest to become Lifetime Diamond, which, as I understand, requires a certain amount of base points earned over time. Do these double base points then count double towards that, or only once, as the extras are part of a promotion? I’m inclined to think the latter, but I would love to be told otherwise for the sake of my quest.

I went to this post to refamiliarise myself with the terms and conditions of this promotion, because I stayed at DT London Excel Sunday to Monday and, as far as I can tell, didn’t get those extra points, whereas I did get them on a stay at DT Woking 7-8 June. I’m a little confused about whether everything is posted correctly or not, so if someone can help, I would really appreciate it.

Woking:

Base points: 1,050
Diamond Elite 100% Bonus: 1,050
Diamond Myway Bonus: 1,000
2024 Double Points Promotion: 1,050
Guest Gratitude Promotion: 1,050

London ExCel:

Base points: 994
Diamond Elite 100% Bonus: 994
Diamond Myway Bonus: 1,000
2024 Double Points Promotion: 994

… but no Guest Gratitude Promotion. I was of the impression that that was what ran until September, but did I miss something? I booked the stay Saturday evening.

Further to my latest post, I have just chatted to someone at Hilton and enquired about this. He said this promotion is only available on ONE stay between May and September, and that I had already used it in Woking. Obviously, I checked the promotion page, and it says EVERY stay. If it was indeed only valid on ONE stay, I would have liked to choose which stay that should be, as Woking didn’t generate much. Am I completely missing something here?? What do you wise people with more experience in this field than me suggest I do – if anything?

Guest Gratitude Promotion is a email-targeted promo that gave you an extra set of base points on your next stay at any Hilton, provided that it occurs within 4 months from when you clicked the button in the email. So your earning looks correct to me.
