Just noticed this in the app available for booking from approx April onwards, for those of us who find ourselves in Manchester.

Looks to be a great location and quite a nice property if it ends up like the artists impressions.

On a similar note, the old Macdonald hotel at Piccadilly is now an unbranded hotel within the Marriott booking system.

Have walked past both of these a lot recently and the “Piccadilly Hotel” I havent stayed in as it looks like a dump, but the location for the station is excellent I have to say!

The new Tribute property was listed for opening last month and then this month, which has clearly not been happening for many months just from walking past you can see there is a lot of work to do. I feel like April is more realistic, who knows maybe a soft opening in March. Overall it does look ike it should be a decent option if needing to be near the station. Price point shall be interesting as you also have the Residence Inn nearby which is pretty cheap unless there is a big event on, but otherwise seems to struggle to shift rooms. Overall it is a ok property if you accept it for what it is, but definataly has a lot of work to still do and also correct some building issues! Does feel very American in design however and the whole outdoor covered corridors in Manchester just feels like a mistake, I mean do they know how much it rains!!

Looks like The Reach is finally opening this Tuesday, 9th.

Having walked past recently it’s another good option, faces good competition from Dakota and Native/Ducie Street Warehouse, so hopefully keeps service good and rates realistic.

Well 11 months after starting this thread I finally stayed at The Reach this week.

Overall a very good stay and would recommend, as long as the rate isn’t too over the top which I have seen on some dates.

Booked in to a regular double and it was very small- close to normal Moxy proportions. However the fit, finish and amenities were far better than a Moxy, and it was a lovely room. They have “cosy” rooms at a cheaper price point, they must be very small indeed!

Breakfast was good (welcome amenity as Platinum) and staff friendly and attentive.
