I know that UK credit cards can’t compete with their equivalents across the pond on rewards, but offering tier points seems a slightly different concept that wouldn’t be based on how much the CC company makes. Potentially a sign of what might come to the UK?

Whilst the headline bonus isn’t that attractive, I think it’s competitive for Americans that don’t fly often. Remember virgin flight redemptions earn tier points, on top of what you earn from the card. Additionally, the two perks a year could be valued at $300 to $500 each

Maybe, but I’m a UK/US dual citizen and this doesn’t even register as anything remotely interesting compared to the other US cards that I have or would even consider applying for. Perhaps others might have a different view.
