Forums Other Destination advice New York Marriott suggestion

Looking for a suggestion please for five night NYC trip with wife and two year old daughter in two weeks time. Previously used to stay at Conrad but have Titanium at Marriott so thought I’d test it out. Some criteria – a great lounge, modern looking hotel (St Regis too old fashioned for me), swimming pool might be nice but not essential, area wise I’m kind of easy too but looking at Manhattan somewhere where there are restaurants, places to explore (that’s probably everywhere, right!), and a hotel where status is adequately recognised. Many thanks for advise.

Essex house is where we’re looking at spending our points for Marriott for a New York trip.

Right next to Central Park for the kids too.

The location of the JW (Essex House) is super but the Club Lounge is nothing great (paper cups for coffee, tables not cleared etc) …..and I remember it closed after breakfast at the weekends. Just checking now before my reply, I see it is currently only open for breakfast. Depends on your dates whether it will open in the evenings again during the week
