Just booked a flight for February, paid for I Class in business, using miles to upgrade to F. Normally this would credit avios and tier points for the paid portion of the I Class. But MMB says 0 avios and 0 tier points.
Is this a change or an error? These redemptions have long been the sweet spot since the avios earned from the base fare often reduce the net cost of the avios used to upgrade.
That sounds like an error.
I wonder if it’s a quirk as a result of the recent change to extra reward seats available to BAPP card holders which use I class availability so BA now thinks you are just on a reward ticket having used Avios to upgrade to First?
I fear this ends with me having to chase them for the I fare avios/tier points. Seems like its not a policy/t&c change.
Not great but at least I get what I paid for…eventually.
