Looking for some inspiration and ideas for a trip in October 2024. My wife is a teacher so will be around the peak HT period (although there may be some flexibility as she only works part time). We’ll also have a 17 month in tow.
Last October we went to Ibiza, stayed at the ME Melia and relaxed by pool, hired a car and pottered around the island going to nice local restaurants and doing some short walks. We’re keen for something similar to this. Nice(ish) hotel with a pool, little bit of culture and nice restaurants, and a little bit of sun.
Malta (stay at Corinthia Palace, brill on-site Michelin restaurant and nice walks plus free shuttle bus to town) or Lisbon would be my first two ideas that seem to tick most of your boxes!
Two suggestions: Royal Neptun in Dubrovnik (take a sea view room). It’s at the end of the bus route so you’ll always get a seat going to the city, and is far enough out to avoid the crowds. Or I’ve just quoted a client for the Hotel Almyra in Cyprus, which I’ve not stayed at (had a recommendation) but looks incredible(at a sensible price) and close to town and the beach.

Yes, avios will save you a small fortune here though at this stage there might not be a huge amount of choice.
