I have a booking with Oman Air flying to SYD next September. Oman Air is due to be confirmed as a OneWorld member next year – if it attains full membership and privileges before I fly, could I add by BA Exec details and pick up the avios and TPs, or is it likely that will only apply to bookings post OneWorld integration?
I believe it will be the date of travel that counts.
If the integration isn’t complete, put the miles into the Oman Air scheme, which I think is slated to merge with the QR scheme. The Avios will then be portable back to BA. (I’m sitting on a slug of Oman Air miles & Silver status on the hope that this maps out…)
Yes, is by travel date.
The only other option now is what I did two weeks ago – credit to Etihad.
However, you may want to credit to the Oman scheme anyway (assuming OW integration is NOT done) as SYD is probably long enough to get enough miles for a BA redemption flight once they do join.
