We’re due to fly club world LHR to NBO on Wednesday, and with no status I was just waiting until online check in opens tomorrow to select seats for the two of us (its a cash flight not avois).
The seat map now shows only 1 seat available.
The panicked by cancellations, stressed part of my brain is worried and refusing to listen to reason from the rest of my brain that knows that’s just because they don’t release all the seats until check in opens.
I know there was a post while ago about this but I just can’t find it.
Please can someone with a more sensible brain just confirm that for me.
More seats will be released when OLCI opens.
If you check in but not generate a BP you will then be able to go back and see if any others have been opened up because people have changed their existing seats etc.

Thank you. I am not usually this worried.
@Mel, I have had exactly this and been stressed as well. Then at T-24 enough seats appeared for all of us. Have a great trip!

Thank you for your reassurance – its really appreciated!!!
15 EFG are empty so you should be able to get those at OCLI
Interestingly the flight is a 4 class aircraft operating without First Class but there is only 1 seat left on sale. Usually this means they’ve also sold F seats with CW service. Worth keeping an eye on though they usually manually prioritise status passengers for those seats
My last trip pre-Covid was on a 4-class plane and all 3 of us were seated in the F cabin though at the time we were all BA blue. I put it down to me refusing to pay for seat selection, so when it came to allocating seats the pax who hadn’t pre-selected them got put in F. So you might get lucky! (Coincidentally, I’m sure, the captain’s wife and kids were also seated in that cabin…)
I’m just having a vent – I can’t check in online for my flight to Nairobi tomorrow anyway!!!! Which means I cant fill in the Kenyan health form which requires the seat number.
Incredibly frustrating as now I’ll have to do that form at the airport and find somewhere to print it off in the airport.
AARRRRGGGHHHH why cant they just let you check in and so a final check your documents when you get to the airport???
I will see what happens tomorrow – F would be hilarious!!!
Does Kenya use VeriFly? We couldn’t check in last time we flew as there are known issues with it, and are anticipating problems again next week!

If you look at the seatmap you may find you’ve been given a seat number anyway, 15 E & G are still free. No one in F.
Turn up very early, apologise profusely that the ground crew have been inconvenienced because you can’t check in online and ask if they are going to be seating anyone in FLUB?

I like teh idea of apologising – although as HBO i hope they haven’t been too incovenienced!
Husband is a fan of early arrivals at airports – I’ve been sat for 2 hrs before check in even opens a few times. I dont mind as I’mm a nerd and like being at airports.

Just use the seat number of your choice on the form.
