Hi – wanting to double check I’ve got the right idea here with about 10 days left before I need to sort.
We are going to Sri Lanka for two weeks next year, and then spending a week in the Maldives. The plan is to use the 241 voucher as an open jaw ticket from LHR to MAA (Chennai), hop over to Sri Lanka for two weeks, hop over to Maldives from Sri Lanka, and then get the return leg MLE-LHR.
As I understand the MLE-LHR is exceptionally desirable, so whilst the LHR-MAA route is available now with good availability, I anticipate phoning BA on their US number (1 800 247 9297?) at 1am in about 10 days time to book it all.
Will this work?
If I fail to secure the MLE-LHR flights then I think I will fly direct to Bengaluru and take shorter flights between them all – happy to hear other suggestions.
TIA
Sounds like a plan. BOM is another airport to consider – slightly longer journey than BLR, but higher frequency of flights. BOM worked for us on the way out as BLR flight timing wasn’t great. Return could be different.
Even on the outbound, BLR (or even HYD) options might be better as the airports are new, small and cleaner than MAA. The weather in April could also be miserable at MAA if you plan to take a break.
