Forums Payment cards American Express Platinum £100 for £300 spend

  • cercwc76

If anyone known the platinum offer £100 off when spend £300 on Amex travel online can be accumulating or must be in a single transaction. Looked into the T&Cs can’t see neither of them being requested. Got 2 hotel bookings on different places that might be able to make use of it, provided the hotels charged it before the stay.
    TIA

Eh? The cashback only triggers if you pay Amex Travel. Any booking where the hotel does a pre-arrival charge won’t count.

Oh really, i thought the prepaid hotel via amex travel can trigger the offer.

How long is this offer taking to trigger? Just made the transaction, it’s showing Amex Travel on the pending transactions page, it only saves me money if the offer triggers.

Does this offer work with cumulative spend or do I have to spend £300 in one go?

    About 4 weeks for me.

Was this offer in the standard Amex Offers section (in the app or on the website) where you have to save it to your card. I can’t remember how I accessed it but think i probably saved it to the card. I booked a hotel on my platinum card a couple of weeks ago (for >£400) and got the £100 credit but had to cancel and they took £100 back (not unreasonably) but it seems to have disappeared now from the offers available. Does anyone know if it has expired? thanks

Got the email the day after I made the hotel booking. This was a Marriott where I only have gold status, rate was flexible and included breakfast. Had to move up two room levels to hit the £300 target. Saved me about £50 I think.
