Platinum 100k Offer?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if Amex will release another 100k welcome bonus offer? I’m looking to book Cape Town return flight (business) for our honeymoon in Feb for Feb/March 2026 and we are a few away from the 200k required.

I could get close with the current sign up but was hoping they would drop a 100k offer soon – if it lands in Jan, like this year, I won’t make it in time. Or the offer may not come at all.

Any thoughts/ideas/tips?

Realistically it’s not even 100k anyway… it’s 80k and 20k for staying in the second year, which you would better by merely asking for a retention prior to cancelling anyway, and they usually credit it without any qualms so you could still cancel before the annual fee is credited.

But I’d guess they’d run again at some point anyway, depending on what they do with the Dining credit and harvey nichols credit, so likely January indeed, but who knows.

Last autumn, in conjunction with announcing the fee increase and putative end to pro-rata refunds, they offered an initial welcome bonus of 75k MR for £10k spend + 25k in month 15 but also offered those who asked 50k retentions after just 2 or 3 months at a time when there was certainty over dining credits for 2023 and 2024. If there’s more bad news including them imposing the no pro-rata refund term, maybe there will be a big SUB again.
