Platinum bonus eligibility

Does holding the Small Business Platinum card mean you’re ineligible for the sign up bonus on the Personal Plat (assuming no other MR cards have been held for 24mths)?

Thought this was not the case but had a chat with Amex CS who said that the Small Business Plat MR points go into a ‘personal MR account’ which means the holder is not eligible for the Personal Plat bonus…and they were adamant!

Politely tried telling them they may be wrong but they kept referring to the fact that the type of card didn’t matter, holding a personal MR ‘account’ made you ineligible and that points from Small Bus Cards went into ‘personal MR accounts’. 🤯

Sounds like you spoke to the overseas call centre. They really aren’t clued up.
