Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points
Hi: if I cancel my platinum card will I still get a refund of fees pro rata? I signed up in July and have hit the target spend but the ongoing benefits have little value to me. Is the refund impacted by a travel insurance claim I’ve made? One week after taking out the card my wife broke her leg so we had to cancel- insurance was fantastic!! Won’t cancel for another month to use travel credit & move points. So maybe 8 months refund due? Thanks
Pro rata refunds are still a thing right now and they are calculated daily.
Though, you say the benefits are of little value to you yet you have used the insurance and wish to use it again. If the insurance was of no value you’d cancel it now and get insurance that was.
I’m assuming you’ve used the dining credits and HN credit already?
