That was my understanding – just someone mentioned that theirs triggered late in the year / did not trigger so got me wondering if there’s a cut off. Or if you spend too late and the credit comes in on the 2nd of January, then it’s already used the H1 of 2024.

Did you get your Amex Credit Statement for buying the gift card? I read they should be excluded. I’ve done this instore and was credited, I wasn’t sure if it would work online as well.

Yes, that was posted on 24 December (the same day I actually received the card).

I spent on the 17th of December and it took my credit 1 week to apply on the 24th.

So would I be right in saying that I was just in the 2023 bucket, so that I can now do it once more until the 1st of July beginning.. well, as of yesterday?

Correct – and sales are on!

Thank you. FYI to all. I see the £50 cards are available again

Does anyone know whether TCB or BA eStore will track if I use HN Rewards credit at checkout? TIA

I spent £50 last week but the credit hasn’t appeared on my statement yet. Does that mean I’ve used the first of my 2024 £50s already?

I bought a gift voucher online in June – the transaction date was 29 June, the process date was 30 June and the “HN credit” was 3 July per my Amex statement. I was a little concerned that the credit being dated 3 July might mean it was the credit for the second half of the year.

However, I bought another one on 23 December and the process date and HN credit dates were both 24 December, so the July credit date was clearly not an issue.

So @BobM, as long as the processing date was 31 December or earlier, I think you should be fine (i.e. you will have used the 2023 credit #2).

    Yes it does.
    Mine did two days ago.

Thanks. The transaction was processed on 29th December, but the £50 credit has now appeared dated 1st January. I think I’ll contact Amex for clarification…

There’s some good discounts on edible Christmas goods at the shop on the top floor in-store. A lot of it is at 75% off. Also some discounts on a few alcohol bottles which bring them in line with, or below other shops online.

Wasting your time. The credit date is irrelevant, the transaction date is what matters, yours is in H2 2023 therefore that’s what the credit relates to. Your H1 2024 is ready to use.

I’m still waiting on credit from an online HN gift card purchase that shows as 25th December transaction date. I assume / hope they cant tell it was a gift card.

Thanks everyone. Only problem now is finding something to spend it on for £59.

Hi , Should I be concerned that the credit hasn’t been applied yet
I applied and received the card in Early December, and then got an online chat agent to apply all of the benefits to the card
Few days later (14th December) ordered something over £50, and no credit on my statement yet
Same for the dining credit, Spent the £150 over 2 separate restaurants on the 22nd and 29th, and nothing has been creditted back

Yep something’s wrong there. HN and dining both posted credits for me within a couple of days of the transaction moving from “pending”.

There’s no particular pattern, not unheard of for them to take the full 90 days to credit. No point contacting Amex as they just read that script.

Mine is a similar situation to you. Got the card on 23rd December and had the benefits added manully by an agent straight away. Bought a Harvey Nichols gift card online on 24th and went to a restaurant on 28th. Dining credit appeared a couple of days ago but still no Harvey Nichols. I’m currently putting it down to them maybe knowing it was a gift card and excluded in the t&c’s If it turns up its a bonus, if not I can go and have brunch and a bloody mary…

Thanks I’ll give it a week or so and call if still not credited.

    Here is my datapoint

I purchased my £50 gift card online on 3rd Jan.
It moved from a pending traction to my statement on 4th Jan
The card arrived via DPD yesterday 5th Jan
Today 6th Jan my £50 has been credited on my statement

The last couple of times I’ve been “close to deadline” (although
admittedly purchases not gift cards), I’ve just contacted the chatline
to say “can you see it and does it trigger the credit?”. They said Yes
both times, but having it in black and white was helpful as it took
    a few days to arrive.

In contrast, buying an Ivy voucher triggered the “benefit activated” sms in
30 seconds, but that hasn’t appeared in my account yet (one week later).

Yeah I contacted Amex they said the transactions will be credited
However as said above, basically read of the script in terrms of a timeline saying it could take upto 150 days for the dining credit and the HN credit to apply
