Platinum insurance

Hi all,

With regards to the platinum insurance, can a trip be booked via a different ba amex card? Got a spend target to hit so would rather book on my ba amex but obviously still want the travel insurance to be activated

What sort of insurance do you mean? These require it being booked on the Platinum, everything else is fine on any card:

• Personal Belongings, Money and Travel Documents;
• Purchase Protection;

Yeah it was for general travel insurance sorry should of clarified, thanks!

I thought Card had a particular meaning and just meant any Amex you held. So for all the relevant insurance where you have to pay on the Card BA Amex would be fine. I would them to confirm if still unsure after reading documentation.

Amex has two separate and slightly different definitions for (the) “card” and “card account”. They may potentially amount to the same thing but having otiose terms in a consumer contract like this is quite unhelpful and it clearly leads to endless confusion. Amex should make it much clearer.
