Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Plaza Premium T5 lounge access rules

    Asking for a mate.

Family of 5. While usually a family of 4 can get in via 1 amex plat card (card holder, sup. card holder plus a guest each), my question is, considering Priority Pass holders now gain access to the Plaza Premium lounge, would they be able to guest in the 5th family member via their Priority Pass card or does it not work that way?

(i.e. 4 family members get in by showing the 2 amex plat cards and the 5th gets in with a Priority Pass card belonging to one of the amex card holders)

Formally it should not work. On a slow day, the lounge team may play ball but they’re under no compulsion to do so.

I have a family of 5 so have experienced this scenario at various lounges, although I have a different scenario a PP T5 that may give you some answers anyway.

In the past (mostly when travel resumed under restriction), I was able to
“Negotiate” the use of my Priority Pass benefits for 4 entry and in addition using my HSBC Premier WE card for the 5th entry. A couple of times they did not accept the second card but “guested” my youngest born (6yo) as a gesture of goodwill. In the last 12 months however they have strictly enforced the one lounge access card/account per Boarding pass rule policy (which has always been there to be fair) and thus have had to pay for the 5th entry.

With regards to the Plaza Premium, I lasted visited when I was travelling with the 3 kids but without my wife, so I could only have two entry for free, but I also had the DragonPass app where I could buy the pass for £18, and they refused to accept both the Platinum card and DragonPass as they said the lead passenger could only use is birding pass once against one of the account type. (They did offer to discount the on the door entry fee to £20, almost matching the £18 of DragonPass).

So, OP aside of the fact that PP is still linked to your Platinum account and potentially Amex could see what you did there, my understanding is that the Lounge Dragon will only accept either the Platinum Card or the PP for the leading passenger.

BTW does anyone know if Amex Platinum will continue to offer Plaza Premium now that it can be had as part of the Priority Pass membership they already offer?
