I needed to book 2 next day flights for family emergency. We were in Greece and OH was unable to log in to his BA account, no idea why…he has a 241 in his account we wanted to use that’s probably going to go unused.
I logged into my account ok and booked the flights using full avios, 45k.
He contacted BA on return asking if the 241 could retrospectively be added to the booking fully expecting a firm No. He did get a No, but was offered 15k avios each instead. We would have saved 22.5k avios using the 241 but got 30k instead = result.
Well done, but sorry about your family emergency. A great relief to get back home tho.
Always found BA great when we had rush flts back and forth to Dublin with a failing mum. The odd back to front RFS was booked under pressure etc. A very helpful csa can be found the odd time!
