I’m new to the world of Reward flights, and I couldn’t seem to find the answer to my question in the forum.
I’m looking to book my very first Reward flight with BA using part Avios. I was initially going to fly to SFO and back (from and to LHR), but then I decided it might be fun to spend a couple of days in L.A and fly back from LAX. So LHR-SFO and LAX-LHR the following week. I couldn’t find a multi-city option on the Reward flight booking page. Does that mean I have to book two one way tickets? I checked the price for that, and that could work, but would that pose an issue in Immigration in the US?
There is loads of info on here about open jaw bookings, which is what you are trying to do, and perfectly feasible.
Just one note of warning – make sure you are booking reward flights (start from “book with avios”) and not simply using avios to reduce the cash price (“part pay with avios”), as this is usually terrible value!
Have a look at Rob’s series of articles on using avios for redemptions before you actually book anything, if you have time.
